Valeo wins GM’s Supplier of the Year award in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Valeo, a global leader in technologies for driver assistance, electrification, lighting and the interior cabin experience, announced today that it has been awarded by General Motors as Supplier of the Year in the category of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Valeo has extensive technological and industrial expertise in ADAS, enabling it to produce very efficient solutions at optimal cost. The company has sold more than 1.5 billion ADAS sensors over the past 30 years and plans to sell more than 3 billion sensors over the next 5 years. Vehicles are offering more ADAS functionality to ensure the safety of passengers and to gradually pave the way for autonomous driving. ADAS technology ranges from automatic emergency braking in the event of danger, to monitoring driver alertness, maintaining the vehicle in the correct lane, adapting speed automatically and adjusting lighting.
“This award is an exceptional milestone in Valeo’s long-standing relationship with GM and we are honored to be recognized. The acceleration of ADAS technology is a core focus for Valeo and for GM to acknowledge us in this category – it’s truly special,” said Jeffrey Shay, President of Valeo North America.
Valeo is the world leader in driver assistance, equipping one out of every three new cars in the world. The company develops software, the most complete suite of sensors (ultrasonic sensors, cameras, radars, LiDARS) and computing units (domain controllers) that enable the vehicle to make the right decisions. Ultimately, Valeo’s mission is to make all mobility cleaner, safer and smarter.
