Valeo unveils at the Shanghai Auto Show technologies that will help to continue to accelerate its growth in China

Shanghai, China, April 20, 2015 – Valeo stepped up its growth in the world's leading automotive market in 2014, with an increase in sales of 28%. Backed by an ever-increasing commitment to innovation, with more than 1,100 patents filed worldwide in 2014, Valeo intends to double its sales in China every four years.

At the Shanghai Auto Show, Valeo will unveil new technologies that will allow the Group to continue increasing its sales faster than automotive production in China. These innovations include:

  • The InBlue™ virtual key: Thanks to Bluetooth™ technology, Valeo InBlue allows drivers to use their smartphone or smartwatch to lock and unlock their car. It also enables car sharing, remote parking and access to vehicle data such as tire pressure, fuel level and last location parked. Not only can drivers use their car without taking their keys out of their pocket, but they can also leave their keys at home.
  • A new filter that traps ultra-fine particles for improved air quality: Valeo has developed a filter that retains fine and ultra-fine particles in order to purify cabin air. This innovative filter complies with China’s new air pollution standard for particulate matter that will come into effect in 2016.
  • The electric supercharger: This technology enhances the performance of downsized gasoline and diesel engines fitted without compromising power, even at low RPMs. The electric supercharger cuts vehicle fuel consumption by up to 10%. and improves fun to drive.
  • The smart, glare-free 100% LED BeamAtic® PremiumLED: with these fully automatic headlamps, drivers can keep their high beams on without blinding other motorists. The system’s onboard camera, coupled with powerful image processing software, detects and locates other vehicles and then adjusts the high beam so that the entire road is lit, except for a shadowy area around the vehicle that is approaching or being approached.

Since it first set up operations in the country in 1994, China has become Valeo’s biggest country in terms of employee numbers, with 15,000 people working in 29 production sites, 10 developments centers and 3 R&D centers.
