Steering Wheel Electronics represent the integration of Hands-On Detection (HOD) and heating functionality within the steering wheel. The Hands-On Detection system ensures that the driver remains actively engaged and in control during transitions between manual and assisted/automated driving modes (Level 2, 3, 4). It ensures the safety of the driver and is thus relevant for European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro-NCAP) testing from 2023.
The Smart eDrive is a self oil-cooled electric axle combining an electric motor, inverter and reducer. The Smart eDrive is externally air-cooled and internally oil-cooled with the use of a smart oil pump. It doesn’t need any external cooling architecture, this is the particularity of this product.
Boosting the performance of active safety systems, driver assistance technologies, and autonomous driving capabilities to ensure their effectiveness in more than just ideal weather conditions is a prominent objective in the automotive industry. Electrical Oil Pumps (EOP) are mainly used in all types of transmissions (Automatic Transmission – AT, dry or wet Dual Clutch Transmission – DCT, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission – DHT, Continuous Variable Transmission – CVT, Manual Transmission – MT, reducer) for lubrication and cooling (gears, clutches, eDrive) and in a lower proportion also for actuation (of clutches, hydraulic gear shifting, hydraulic park-lock). For both of those application fields, Valeo also offers Smart Pump, being EOP (Electric Oil Pump) with a combination of active functions.

The Pressure and Temperature sensor (TL) are a key component to control and monitor cooling system in EV/HEV vehicles.
The absolute pressure and temperature sensor measures temperature and pressure to optimize and ensure the internal combustion engine (ICE) performance.
Front End Modules include Active Grille Shutters, Heat Exchanger, Radiators and a Fan System enclosed in a shroud. Front End Modules can manage the airflow at the front of the vehicle for both aerodynamic performance and cooling requirements (cabin or battery). As part of the vehicle structure, Front End Modules are also designed for crash absorption and resistance.

Specific range of electro-mechanical actuators (EGR actuator) to control the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) in the intake to reduce the pollutants emissions and the fuel consumption in internal combustion engines (ICE).

R-744 (CO2) Refrigerant has a significantly lower climate impact than fluorinated refrigerants (R-134a or R-1234yf). It also offers more power and efficiency at extreme cold temperatures (-18°C) thanks to its thermodynamic properties. It is the most efficient way of heating an electric vehicle in cold conditions.
The Delta pressure sensor, also called Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) measures the pressure drop across the EGR system.
The delta pressure sensor manages the differential pressure across particulate filter or on the low pressure EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) loop. It’s a key element to ensure the particulate filter behavior to fullfill the pollutants emission threshold allowed by more and more stringent regional regulations.
