The Double Wet Clutch (DWC) is a type of automatic multi-speed vehicle transmission system, that uses two separate wet clutches. The principle of such a transmission is to be able to switch gears without feeling the change. It is seamless gear shifting. Valeo is also developing Triple Wet Clutch (TWC).
High voltage batteries are expensive and very sensitive to temperature variations even when the vehicle is stopped and the battery is being charged. The high voltage combo OBC DC/DC combines the functionality of an Onboard Charger (OBC) with that of a DC/DC converter (DC/DC). The OBC is the interface between the car and the public grid, it converts the energy from the grid network AC (Alternative Current) source to the DC (Direct Current) voltage of the car high voltage battery in respect with the public grid and regulations.
The torque converter is a fluid coupling device that transfers rotating power from the engine to the wheel through an Automatic Transmission (AT) or a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
