The Valeo 12V iStARS Belt starter alternator or Starter Generator (BSG) is installed in place of an alternator. The combustion engine is started immediately and silently thanks to the belt that permanently links the system to the crankshaft.
A flap actuator is using an electric motor to move a flap. Based on a Modular Rotary Actuactor platform, Valeo offers a full range of Flap Actuators (electronic throttle control) to ensure air management (intake or exhaust) in all internal combustion engines: Low Pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation (LP EGR), Gasoline Electronic Throttle Control (ETC), Diesel ETC, Delta Pressure (Delta P) Throttle Actuator.
Initially designed to heat the coolant in EVs’ standard HVAC module, and improve cabin comfort, High Voltage Coolant Heaters are also used to heat up the battery.
They have now become mandatory for battery pre-heating in cold weather conditions.
Valeo wants to democratize HVCH implementation by offering a flat design to match all demands and also fit into compact A/C Systems.
High voltage batteries are expensive and very sensitive to temperature variations even when the vehicle is stopped and the battery is being charged. Valeo designs and manufactures compact and cost-competitive solutions (refrigerant, liquid and air cooling) to cater for all types of powertrains: hybrids in Japan and the U.S.; plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and full electric (EV) elsewhere. For PHEVs, Valeo full exchanger solution on refrigerant is serial since 2015. For EVs, Valeo offers ultra-performing liquid battery coolers for prismatic and cylindrical Li-ion battery packs (China, the U.S. and Europe).
LED grille lights are the central area of the car fascia animated from simple contouring to communicative panel. Possibility to be combined with an illuminated logo. Valeo led grille lights and panels have a high level of animation possible for cars (including for communication functions) thanks to integrated or centralized ECU.
The Delta pressure sensor, also called Differential Pressure Sensor (DPS) measures the pressure drop across the EGR system.
The delta pressure sensor manages the differential pressure across particulate filter or on the low pressure EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) loop. It’s a key element to ensure the particulate filter behavior to fullfill the pollutants emission threshold allowed by more and more stringent regional regulations.
The Telematics Integrated Antenna is an innovative solution that combines the functionalities of a telematics unit with an integrated antenna system, streamlining installation and maximizing performance. The Telematics Integrated Antenna seamlessly integrates all necessary antennas into a single unit, eliminating the need for multiple external antennas and reducing clutter on the vehicle exterior.
With this integrated approach, the Telematics Integrated Antenna optimizes signal reception and transmission, ensuring robust connectivity for a wide range of telematics applications. It can deliver reliable performance in diverse driving conditions, whether it’s GPS navigation, vehicle tracking, or wireless communication.
The EGS (Electro-Mechanical Gear Shift) or the HGS (Hydraulic Gear Shift) are actuators used in automatic transmission (Dual Clutch Transmission – DCT, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission – DHT, reducer) enabling Shift By Wire of the gears. The EGS (2 speed) is particularly designed to address 2-speed eDrive (P4 hybrid or BEV). Valeo offers both Electro-Mechanical & Hydraulic actuators to address all types of DHT, DCT and reducers.
Data centers consume 5% of the worldwide electricity production. 40% of that consumption is dedicated to server cooling.
In the meantime, chip power increases and requires more cooling power. Today, 95% of data centers use air cooling, which uses a huge amount of energy. Only 5% use liquid cooling, mostly using water, but of course the risk is that leaks can destroy electronics and even lead to fire hazards.
Located in the front cooling module, air conditioning condensers are heat exchangers that are part of the refrigerant loop (A/C system). When going through this type of exchangers, the refrigerant becomes liquid, or put differently “condenses”, to release the heat it carries in the air that crosses the exchanger.
In R-744 A/C & heat pump systems, gas coolers have exactly the same function.
A/C Condensers can sometimes include an evaporation function – they are the called “evaporative-condensers”. Evaporators are exchangers that provide cold air while drying the air that goes through it to demist the windshield.
