  Cylindric Cells Battery Cooler

  High voltage batteries are expensive and very sensitive to temperature variations, even when the vehicle is stopped and the battery is being charged. Valeo designs and manufactures compact and cost-competitive solutions (refrigerant, liquid and air cooling) to cater for all types of powertrains: hybrids in Japan and the US; plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and full electric (EV) elsewhere. For PHEVs, Valeo full exchanger solution on refrigerant is serial since 2015. For EVs, Valeo offers ultra-performing liquid battery coolers for prismatic and cylindrical Li-ion battery packs (China, the US and Europe).

  Cabin Air Filters

  Cabin air filters act like a barrier against dust, particulate matter and pollens that pass through the air inlet of the HVAC module.

  Valeo offers a full range of cabin air filters, an essential contributor to safe and healthy air in the cabin, from standard filters to very high efficiency combined filters with activated carbon layers that can stop odors, harmful gases and drastically reduce allergen and virus activity.

  In-vehicle Experience Steering Wheel Equipment

  E-shifter

  An E-shifter is a gear selection system that uses electronic signals to change gears instead of the traditional mechanical linkage. This technology allows for a smoother, more intuitive gear shifting experience, and can be found in the form of buttons, rotary dials, or toggles. Valeo develops all three types.

  Our electronic gear shifter is composed of :

  • 1 decorative toggle +/- with 2 step positions
  • haptic targets and contactless technology
  • 2 pushes (Parking & Mode ) with single detent with backlight
  • 3 symbols (R – N – D) with backlighting (different colors)

  Lighting Systems Interior lighting

  Dynamic Interior Lighting

  Though static interior lighting could deliver information (thanks to a change of color for example), dynamic interior lighting offers much more opportunities. The use of smart LEDs enables a highly controlled system able to create an animation throughout the cabin or in a very specific area. Speed, luminance and color can be managed for each LED in order to get a warning or a visual feedback.

  ADAS Sensor Cleaning

  LiDAR Cleaning: sensor cleaning system

  It keeps a stable performance at speeds up to 140 km/h. It has an integrated style cap (on nozzle) or retractable trapdoor. Optional Defrosting is available from start-up at -20°C in 3 minutes 40 seconds. LiDAR cleaning system is also engineered for pedestrian protection.

  R-744 Standard Heat Pump

  Valeo is strongly committed to sustainable development and environmental protection: it was the first equipment supplier to promote R-744 Standard Heat Pump (natural refrigerant), winning a PACE Award in 2017 for this innovative technology. (PACE: Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence).

  R-744 (CO₂) Refrigerant has a significantly lower climate impact than fluorinated refrigerants (R-134a or R-1234yf). It also offers more power and efficiency at extreme cold temperatures (-18°C) thanks to its thermodynamic properties. It is the most efficient way of heating an electric vehicle in cold conditions.

  Torque and/or Angle Sensors

  Torque and/or Angle Sensors are reliable components designed to detect drivers’ torque and/or steering wheel position for precise regulation in electronic power steering (EPS) systems and future steer-by-wire steering systems.

  These sensors represent a pivotal advancement in automotive technology, providing real-time feedback on the driver’s input to optimize steering performance and enhance vehicle control. By accurately detecting torque and steering wheel position, they enable the EPS system to adjust steering assistance levels dynamically, improving responsiveness and stability under varying driving conditions.
