The High Voltage Power Box combines the functionality of an Onboard Charger (OBC), a DC/DC converter and a PDU (Power Distribution Unit). The OBC is the interface between the car and the public grid. It converts the energy from the network grid AC (Alternative Current) source to DC (Direct Current) voltage of the car high voltage battery in respect with the public grid and the regulations.

The Disconnect is an electric actuator implemented in the transmission that allows to disconnect the wheels from the Electric Drive Unit, primarly for electric vehicle All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and P4 Hybrid using Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric Motor (PMSM) type.

The torque converter is a fluid coupling device that transfers rotating power from the engine to the wheel through an Automatic Transmission (AT) or a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
In the context of 48V network vehicles (MILD hybrids, etc.), Valeo offers 48V solutions, an evolution of our 12V technology. These products, using the same PTC stone technology, allow 48V to offer higher voltage and power. In addition, the 48V makes it possible to compensate for the shortage of energy for heating the passenger compartment while the engine heats up.

Electrical Oil Pumps (EOP) are mainly used in all types of transmissions (Automatic Transmission – AT, dry or wet Dual Clutch Transmission – DCT, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission – DHT, Continuous Variable Transmission – CVT, Manual Transmission – MT, reducer) for lubrication and cooling (gears, clutches, eDrive) and in a lower proportion also for actuation (of clutches, hydraulic gear shifting, hydraulic park-lock). For both of those application fields, Valeo also offers Smart Pump, being EOP (Electric Oil Pump) with a combination of active functions.

Puddle lights are located on the lower part of the vehicle, on each side, below the rearview mirrors, which are used to illuminate the ground near the car door by night.
Current applications of puddle lights are static (one image), the trend is to evolve to dynamic solutions (several images to create a moving effect, for different messages).
The Valeo 48V eDrive (electric drive) or powertrain is a system embedding a high-efficiency electric motor with its associated inverter and a reducer.
It improves the fuel consumption (up to 15% CO2 benefits on WLTP), the driver comfort by providing full electric mode, efficient regenerative braking and four-wheel drive capability in 48V.
