Valeo recognized for its integrated thinking strategy
Valeo has been awarded a prize by the Institut du Capitalisme Responsable (Institute for Responsible Capitalism) for its integrated thinking strategy among contenders in the Europe category for companies with a market capitalization of less than €7 billion or unlisted companies.
At the awards ceremony at the Institut du Capitalisme Responsable, Jacques Aschenbroich commented: “In just ten years, Valeo has undergone a radical transformation. We are now at the epicenter of the three revolutions that are disrupting the global automotive industry: vehicle electrification, driving assistance and automation, and digital mobility. Valeo’s ambition is clear: innovate to improve digital mobility, today and over the long term, for reduced CO2 emissions and an increasingly autonomous, safe, smart and accessible experience. Responsibility and performance go hand in hand for Valeo’s 113,000 employees all over the world, and the Integrated Thinking Award strengthens this already strong conviction.”
The jury highlighted four key components in the Group’s approach:
- Its sustainable and responsible strategy, based on developing technology geared toward safer, more autonomous and more environmentally friendly mobility
- Governance, with the integrated thinking approach supported at the highest level of the Group: Jacques Aschenbroich, the Board of Directors and the Strategy and Operations Committees have taken an interest in the topic and follow up regularly
- The impact on internal collaboration, since the sales, research and development and innovation teams are increasingly working together on projects and case studies or in the innovation laboratories
- The gradual breaking down of silos across the Group’s various businesses.
The other winners at the ceremony, which was held at the MEDEF headquarters on November 8, 2019, were Société Générale (in the Europe category for companies with a market capitalization of more than €7 billion), Vodacom (international category) and Ferrovial (special jury prize).
