The focus at the site

Vehicle tests are carried out under variable climatic conditions such as wind speed, temperature, humidity and solar radiation. Different driving speeds and road loads can be set on the roller dynamometer for passenger cars with front, rear or all-wheel drive.

These parameters can be used to represent a winter or summer climate with high or low humidity. This makes it possible to create an arctic, tropical or desert-like environment on “just a few square meters” in a short time.

Working in Hockenheim

The racing metropolis of Hockenheim offers a liveable, charming and versatile environment. The city of Speyer with its world-famous imperial cathedral and the industrial and university city of Mannheim with its electoral castle are in the immediate vicinity. The university city of Heidelberg with its picturesque and world-famous castle ruins and Karlsruhe with the seat of various federal courts are also not far away. The people who live in Hockenheim benefit from the very favorable location in terms of transport geography on the Rhine plain in northern Baden.

Hockenheim has now developed into an up-and-coming municipality with a high level of public awareness. The Hockenheimring in particular stands for this. Opened in 1932, the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg can accommodate 120,000 spectators and has a track length of 4.6 km. Every year, several motor sport events such as the DTM or IDM take place here.

The city also has a lot to offer in the area of culture and education. This includes, for example, the Volkshochschule Hockenheim e.V. with its affiliated music school. Cultural insights are offered by the Tobacco Museum, which provides information on the history of tobacco cultivation and its processing in the region, and the Motorsport Museum at the Hockenheimring.
