Multiple Wet Clutch: double wet clutch and Triple wet clutch
Last update: 02 Sep. 2024Valeo Automotive Wet Clutches
The Double Wet Clutch (DWC) is a type of automatic multi-speed vehicle transmission system, that uses two separate wet clutches. The principle of such a transmission is to be able to switch gears without feeling the change. It is seamless gear shifting. Valeo is also developing Triple Wet Clutch (TWC).

What are Valeo Double and Triple Wet Clutches benefits?
- All in one full system solution provider (DWC, friction paper, actuation, damper, cooling and actuation pump) from design to production.
- Performance & Flexibility: Valeo in-house friction paper
- Compatibility: adaptable to the majority of conventional & hybrid DCT gearboxes
- CO2 benefits: dCSC technology = no centrifugal effect, no balance piston = drag torque reduction
- Market: production facilities in Europe and Asia
- Technologies: Valeo on-the-shelves Wet Clutches piston type and dCSC (Concentric Slave Cylinder) type
